This week I was talking to one of our sons. His college professor asked his class the question whether preparing family meals was an act of empowerment or an act of enslavement for the preparer. He asked me what I thought. I quickly responded, “It is neither; it is an expression of love.” He responded even more quickly, “Every act of love is an act of empowerment.” I thought, “No truer words have ever been spoken.”
I don’t think I need to add much more to that. He’s right. Every act of love empowers us in our own lives. It lifts us up and brings joy and encouragement and strength and healing to our own lives. It does the same in the lives of others. Every expression of love empowers the person receiving the love, because that’s what love shared does. It gives hope! It brings God on the scene, and where God is, there is victory and blessing – every time!
Share acts of love and compassion this wee k . . . as often and with as many people as you can. We all win!
1 Cor. 14:1 – Follow the way of love.
If you have never made Jesus the Lord of your life and desire to, pray this: Dear God, I believe that Jesus is your Son, that He died on the cross for me and was resurrected for my redemption. I choose to make Jesus the Lord of my life. I thank you for forgiving me and for filling me with Your Holy Spirit. I thank You that I am Your child, that You are my Father, and that You have great things planned for me.
