It is normal as individuals that we desire to be blessed, and as believers, we walk in the blessing of God. He is for us and not against us. We become co-heirs with Christ (Rom. 8:17), heirs of every spiritual blessing in Him (Eph. 1:3), the moment we make Jesus our Lord and Savior, and God loves every person, believer or not.

The true key to walking in blessing, however, is not to seek just the gift but the Giver, not to seek just the miracle but the Maker, not to seek just the article but the Author, not to seek just the blessing but the One Who blesses. (Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. Mt. 6:33) God’s true desire is to have fellowship with us, relationship. Jesus came that we might be one with Him as He and the Father are One (Jn. 17:20-26). When we seek God – to know Him, to praise Him, to behold His beauty, to adore Him, to talk with Him – our relationship with Him establishes a flow of love from Him to us and from us back to Him. In this relationship and communion with Him is the key to every blessing we could ever imagine. He desires to do us good, and when we walk in fellowship with Him, seeking His heart, He cannot help but be true to His character of blessing toward us (Ps. 34:10).

Seek Him first, before all else, and you will not be able to contain the blessings He has in store for you.

In His Love,

Pastor Lisa Marie
